Dear Representative
Thank you for supporting SB 30 to save the Metolius by preventing destination resorts in the Metolius Basin. Large-scale developments would surely harm the delicately balanced ecology, irreversibly draining the Basin of the very values the resorts would exploit. Save this lovely, irreplaceable river for us all to enjoy.

Senate Bill 30 was an effort to prevent destination resorts in or near the Metolius River Basin. The bill died in committee in the House.
Because efforts to protect the Metolius will continue, this library of letters remains posted as a testament to the broad support the bill received.

Current Status of Senate Bill 30 (updated June 25, 2007)
Senate Bill 30 - as favorably amended in the Senate Rules Committee - passed the Senate Floor with a vote of 19-11 on Tuesday, May 22. The bill was assigned on May 23 to the House Elections, Ethics, and Rules Committee, where it sat until Governor Kulongoski sent a letter to the Committee Chair expressing his opposition to the bill, at which point, Senate Bill 30 was proclaimed dead in commmittee.
