PLEASE! DO NOT pass an AMENDED SB30. Vote for SB30 AS PASSED BY THE SENATE! This is the only way to preserve this pristine area for Oregonians - and the state's visitors. As a member of the travel profession I am well aware how rampant development of an area can destroy the very things that made it attractive to developers.

Senate Bill 30 was an effort to prevent destination resorts in or near the Metolius River Basin. The bill died in committee in the House.
Because efforts to protect the Metolius will continue, this library of letters remains posted as a testament to the broad support the bill received.

Current Status of Senate Bill 30 (updated June 25, 2007)
Senate Bill 30 - as favorably amended in the Senate Rules Committee - passed the Senate Floor with a vote of 19-11 on Tuesday, May 22. The bill was assigned on May 23 to the House Elections, Ethics, and Rules Committee, where it sat until Governor Kulongoski sent a letter to the Committee Chair expressing his opposition to the bill, at which point, Senate Bill 30 was proclaimed dead in commmittee.
