Dear Senators:
To say thank you to all of you for your efforts to restore SB30 to its original intent does not seem adequate. I know SB30 is just one of many issues on your busy schedule and each one takes time, hard work, and commitment on your part. Your job certainly is not an easy one. Thank you for your part in defending and protecting a very special and magical place, the Metolius River Basin. You will be remembered by all Oregonians, present and future, as the Senators who listened and cared about the future of our state. You make me very proud to be an Oregonian.

Senate Bill 30 was an effort to prevent destination resorts in or near the Metolius River Basin. The bill died in committee in the House.
Because efforts to protect the Metolius will continue, this library of letters remains posted as a testament to the broad support the bill received.

Current Status of Senate Bill 30 (updated June 25, 2007)
Senate Bill 30 - as favorably amended in the Senate Rules Committee - passed the Senate Floor with a vote of 19-11 on Tuesday, May 22. The bill was assigned on May 23 to the House Elections, Ethics, and Rules Committee, where it sat until Governor Kulongoski sent a letter to the Committee Chair expressing his opposition to the bill, at which point, Senate Bill 30 was proclaimed dead in commmittee.
